The Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the following Fuels Crew positions:

Forestry Technician 3 (FT3) - We are looking for applicants to fill eight (8) Forestry Technician 3 positions. The FT3 is a full-time/permanent crew member, with benefits and annual pay starting at $70,012.

Forestry Technician 4 (FT4) – We are looking for applicants to fill three (3) Forestry Technician 4 positions. The FT4 is a full-time/permanent field supervisor, with benefits and annual pay starting at $80,017.

The purpose of the Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection Fuels Crew is to reduce vegetation (wildland "fuels") in order to slow or stop the spread of wildfires. The Fuels Crew uses chainsaws and chippers to cut and chip vegetation alongside roadways and other areas. They operate 7 days per week, 10 hours per day.

Valid Driver's License and High School Diploma (or equivalent) are required for all positions. All applicants must undergo a background check, medical exam, and physical fitness test.
